Tuesday night football returns to Erith and Belvedere when they host Stansfeld in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.
After a promising start to the season they have lost three league games on the spin. Last Tuesday they suffered their first home defeat of the campaign when Punjab United won one-nil. That was a game that they could easily have won as they missed a number of good chances.
Then, on Saturday, they were well beaten at Faversham Town. Kieron Campbell opened the scoring in just the seventh minute and Sam Hasler added a second on the half hour. Immediately after the break, Tashi-Jay Kwayie made it three and Frannie Collin rounded off the scoring six minutes later.
After five straight losses, Stansfeld have won their last two matches. Last Tuesday they won two-one at Tunbridge Wells. They went behind in the second minute however, they fought back and equalised eleven minutes later through Dario Sesay-De Luca. On the stroke of half time Mo Buhari scored what turned out to be the winner.
That was followed up by a victory at home to Hollands and Blair on Saturday. On this occasion they recovered from being two down to goals by Harvey Welford and Charlie Sheringham. Jack Mahon pulled one back eight minutes before the break and Chris Alhassani levelled in first half stoppage time. Kameron Mendez scored the winner in the sixty-fifth minute.
Players who have represented both teams will be on the pitch at the Acclaim Handling Community Stadium so there will be a little bit extra at stake for them and it’s sure to be a competitive match.
