Teams at the opposite end of the Southern Counties East Football League table meet when Erith and Belvedere host Fisher on Saturday.
Tony Beckingham’s Deres have won fifteen and drawn one of their seventeen league games. They have won their last four league games on the spin, their last two being an impressive two-nil victory at third placed Erith Town, followed by a two-one win at Deal Town.
On Wednesday evening, they took a break from league action and Tunde Aderonmu helped himself to a first half hat-trick in their three-two Kent Senior Trophy victory against Tunbridge Wells.
Cup successes have contributed to Fisher’s lowly league position causing them to have played four fewer games to some of the other teams in the league. They had been bottom of the table until they won their last two home games.
Having beaten K Sports two-one, they followed up with a three-one victory over Welling Town to climb above Canterbury City. Goals either side of half time by Avelin Cedric Nganga and Michael Sarpong put them ahead against Welling and although Declan Kama pulled one back for the Boots, Billy Brown’s goal ensured victory for the South East London club.
Both teams will be keen to collect the points for very different reasons so it should be a competitive encounter.
