There were goals galore at Park View Road in a hugely entertaining game when Erith and Belvedere hosted Glebe.

In a see-saw match both teams held the lead at various times but it was the visitors who claimed the spoils when the enthralling ninety minutes ended.

Sam Johnson had the first chance for Glebe when he got in behind but his header floated beyond the far post.

At the other end Freddie Cray found Harvey Brand but his long range shot flew just wide.  Danny Lear then had a long shot saved easily before Glebe went ahead. Ryan King-Elliot found Jamie Philpot and he made the most of hesitant defending when showing his predatory instinct with a clinical finish.

Four minutes later, parity was restored when Lear got in behind and slotted it into the bottom corner and after a further two minutes, the Deres went ahead, Lee Lewis nicked it away as Glebe tried to clear and Lear helped it on to Tyler Anderson-Parr. He wasted no time in firing home.

Philpot had a great chance to level when tripped in the penalty area and a spot kick was awarded. He stepped up to take it himself but his attempt to send Rilwan Anibaba the wrong way was unsuccessful and the Deres custodian saved comfortably.

Ten minutes before the break, Glebe levelled. Anibaba went to claim a long through ball but Johnson nipped in front of him, His first touch was brilliant and took it away from the goalkeeper allowing him to roll it into the empty net.

Johnson had another chance before the interval when played in by King-Elliot but Anibaba got down well to make the save.

Early in the second half George Kanurasi tipped over a Drew Allassani header before Anderson-Parr came to Erith’s rescue by getting back to clear off the line and then playing it out with great coolness.

Lear’s second goal put the Deres ahead. His initial shot was beaten out by Kamurasi but Allassani rescued it and squared for Lear and this time he made no mistake with a composed finish.

Luke Rooney, who always appeared to have more time than most in the hurly-burly, tried his luck but it flew wide from a good thirty-five yards before Glebe levelled. Lauris Chin tried to play Philpot in but both Glebe’s leading scorer and Anibaba missed it and it rolled into the net.

Five minutes later, Glebe were back in front. Philpot was sent through and he gave Anibaba no chance with another excellent finish.

Charlie Penny headed over from a corner before Glebe gave themselves daylight with a fifth. This time Philpot was the provider pulling back for King-Elliot. He got it out from under his feet and placed the ball into the bottom corner with unerring accuracy.

Although, Erith tried to get back into the game with Rooney spraying pinpoint passes around, they were unable to break down Glebe’s defence again and the Chislehurst club took home the points.
