Erith & Belvedere and Crowborough Athletic battled out a thoroughly entertaining draw at Park View Road on Saturday afternoon, the visitors taking an early lead before the home side went in front only to be pegged back in injury time.

With the pitch holding up well to the torrential rain over the last few days this game went ahead while many others in the area were called off and those who made their way to the match were rewarded with a great spectacle.

Within two minutes of the kick off, The Crows were in front through Jacob Lambert who converted from close range. The Deres responded by pressing up the slope and after a couple of chances were just off target they drew level on 14 minutes when Nathan Palmer received the ball out on the right and curled a superb effort just inside the far post from the edge of the area to equalise.

James Dyer went close soon after as did Palmer before home keeper Vilianuskas made a great save to deny Charlie Watkins at the other end to keep the scores level at the break.

The second half saw Erith start the brighter attacking towards the High St end, but they could not really create any clear cut chances, right up until the midway point when they were awarded a penalty for hand ball. A ball from the right was hit towards goal by Dyer and the linesman judge a Crows defender had connected to the effort with his arm as he slid in to block. Luke Rooney converted his penalty with a powerful driven shot high into the net to make it 2-1 to The Deres.

Palmer then had a shot well saved, before the visitors rallied in the final ten minutes. They had a strong shout for a penalty waved away when Duncan seemed to be brought down in the area and then had two efforts blocked on the line before the finally drew level in injury time.

Lambert grabbed his second of the game crashing the ball home from just inside the area after a sustained spell of pressure. This was a great game to watch and probably a fair result over the piece with both teams having spells of dominance.
