Entries are now open for the 28th staging of the Darent Valley 10km race which takes place in May.
Organised by Swanley and District Athletics Club, the course starts and finishes at the Headquarters and is mainly rural and undulating along country lanes, passing through picturesque Farningham village and past notable landmarks such as The Roman Villa and Lullingstone Castle.
After the castle there is a short off road section passing Lullingstone Visitor Centre, then on through a farm with a Hop Shop, shortly after exiting the farm road there is a 3km downhill to the finish at the Headquarters.
Car parks are available in the village within a 5-minute walk/jog of the start and they will be signposted on the day. The nearest railway station is Eynsford Station (approx. 1 mile from the start).
There is a limit of 700 runners for this event. All finishers will receive a medal and there will be prizes awarded to:
1st, 2nd & 3rd Senior Men, 1st MV40-49 1st MV50-59 1st Super Vet Man over 60
1st, 2nd & 3rd Senior Lady 1st FV35-44 1st FV45-54 1st Super Vet Lady over 55
1st team home (a team consists of 7 Men and 3 Women – the prize must be returned next year)
