Kent Cricket have announced that England Women will open the international summer at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Wednesday 21st May, 2025.
England Women will be returning to The Spitfire Ground. St Lawrence, as they take on West Indies under lights, in international T20 action next Summer.
This will be the third England Women International T20 match hosted at The Spitfire Ground, after England faced India in 2012 and most recently, New Zealand at a sold-out Spitfire Ground earlier this year.
This series will include a further two IT20s, before the sides compete in three Metro Bank One Day Internationals (ODIs).
West Indies Women have played at The Spitfire Ground once before, when they faced England in a Women’s Test in June 1979. This will be the West Indies Women’s first appearance in Canterbury for 45 years.
Kent Cricket’s CEO, Simon Storey, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting another Women’s International T20 match in Canterbury in 2025.
“This Summer’s sold-out England match at The Spitfire Ground against New Zealand was a fantastic evening and shows the growing demand for women’s cricket.
“This is another opportunity to watch international sport at The Spitfire Ground and help inspire the next generation of Kent and England cricketers.”
