Eight Canterbury players have been called up for the European Touch Rugby Championships at Nottingham in August.
The Canterbury contingent have been named in five of the ten England teams taking part as the Championships return ater a four year break.
Max Howard and Vaughn Meredith will be part of the Mens Open team looking to retain the crown they won in 2018.
Danni Gregory and Erin Payton compete for the Womens Open, Eliot Nye is in the Mixed Open squad, along with Daniel Dyer (Men’s 40) and Adrain Riggs (Men’s 50). Playes from 37 clubs from as far apart as Exeter, Wigan, and North Tyneside ave been selected.
“This has been a lengthy but rewarding process,” said England Touch Rugby’s High-Performance Director, Ben Powell, “and by the time we arrive at tap off for on August 1st, it will have been over 1,400 days since the last European Championships.
“We have assembled excellent squads through a process that may be the most competitive to date for England Touch. We are really looking forward to the opportunity to compete and feel all of our squads have a great chance to challenge for top honours.”
