Ebbsfleet started the season with a bang with this emphatic victory over Kent rivals Tonbridge and their promotion credentials no harm as they sit second in the table although it is early days.
Ebbsfleet took the lead in the 8th minute when Dominic Poleon received the ball on the left, cut inside from 10 yards his shot beat Jon Henly.
Six minutes later they doubled their lead when a long ball forward saw Rakish Bingham latch onto it. Seeing the onrushing Henly coming out chipped him from 15 yards into the empty net.
Fleet were now in complete charge, in the 25th minute it nearly became three when Craig Tanner right by the corner flag flicked it to Greg Cundle who from 10 yards saw his curling shot fly past the post.
The game for Tonbridge changed in 60 seconds when in the 27th minute a corner to the back post was headed back into the six yard box where skipper Sonny Miles flicked shot was saved by Josh Gould at the second attempt.
Then the long ball forward saw Poleon latch onto it and his curling effort in the area went past Henly into the net.
Two minutes later it was four and a hat trick for Poleon when Bingham flicked the ball on, Poleon raced onto it and from 12 yards shot home.
Tonbridge nearly got a goal back in the second minute of added on time when Ricky Modeste in on goal saw his shot tipped over the bar.
The second half was a chance for Tonbridge to get some pride back, but in the 47th minute Alfie Egan received the ball in the area, his shot was saved at the second attempt by Henly.
It seemed that Ebbsfleet were hungry for more. Fifteen minutes later Bingham 10 yards out saw his shot flash past the post.
In the 67th minute another chance came when Greg Cundle on the left ran into the area, from an acute angle poked the ball past Henly but it went past the far post.
Five minutes later another chance came when Egan in the area received the ball, his shot was saved by Henly.
In the 74th minute Tonbridge got a goal back when a low cross found Modeste who from six yards saw his shot parried out by Gould but straight to substitute Ibrahim Olutade who shot home.
Ebbsfleet took six minutes to score again when Adam Mekki on the left wing cut in, his shot beat Henly.
In the 83rd minute it was nearly six when Craig Tanner on the by-line flicked it back to Egan, his volley from six yards was saved by Henly, then in the 87th minute Mekki from halfway avoided some tackles went into the area but saw his shot saved.
The final whistle went a d the Ebbsfleet players celebrated a great victory by doing a lap of honour clapping the fans that they had missed.
