Bromley continued their unbeaten start to the season with a last minute win over fellow National League rivals Ebbsfleet Utd in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night.
With both sides fielding a mix of first team, academy and trialists the game got off to a lively start with Ebbsfleet creating the better chances, Anthony Cook had an effort saved by David Gregory low down at his left hand post and Danny Mills went close twice after spells of pressure.
Bromley’s best chance came to Iffy Allen who lobbed Keeper Miles, but the ball bounced just wide of the goal. The Ravens struggled to keep the ball at times and were lucky to go in level at the break when Shields hit a curling effort from range which went narrowly wide.
The second half took a while to get going, play flowed from end to end, but it took until past the hour mark for a real effort on goal when Allen was just off target for the visitors.
Bret Williams went close soon after and then had another shot saved by Miles, Jordan Higgs dropping the chipped rebound on to the roof of the net.
After a powerful run Mills was denied by a brave save at his feet from Gregory and the Bromley defence did well to keep out a series of corners that followed.
Cook hit a free kick wide and Daryl McMahon hit a long range effort just over for The Fleet before The Ravens finished the stronger. Frankie Raymond had a shot saved and Williams headed one effort wide and placed another just off target after a good run into the box.
Then in the final minute a low Allen cross from the left was met by Williams who flicked the ball past Miles from six yards out to make it 1-0 to Bromley.
In injury time Mills missed a chance to take it to penalties, shooting wide after a good move down field.
