Ebbsfleet United’s lead at the top was reduced to six points as Truro City held them to a scoreless draw.
Truro returned to Cornwall with a well deserved point to keep their good run going.
The game started with Ebbsfleet dominating possession & in the 11th minute they had their first attempt when a cross into the area was only half cleared to Jordan Parkes 20 yards out & his shot was pushed away for a corner by Martin Rice. F
our minutes later Danny Kedwell 25 yards from goal put Matt Godden in & he raced into the area before seeing his shot go across the goal & missing by a foot.
In the 20th minute on the left good interplay between Anthony Cook & Parkes enabled Godden to try his luck from 20 yards but it went high & wide.
Truro finally got their first chance when in the 23rd minute Cody Cooke in the area saw his low cross find Ryan Brett & his shot was deflected for a corner.
Another half chance for Ebbsfleet came in the 28th minute when Danny Haynes passed forward to Kedwell who then turned & shot from 30 yards but it went wide. Two minutes later a Rice free kick up field was flicked on by Matt Wright for Cody Cooke who controlled it & shot just over the bar.
In the 38th minute Parkes on the right crossed to the far post where Kedwell rose but headed over the bar.
In the last two minutes of the half Ebbsfleet had two good chances to score when firstly a ball into the area was cleared to Anthony Cook whose shot was parried away by Rice but only to Godden but he could not get his shot away & then on half time a ball forward into the area found Godden who tried to lob Rice but only succeeded to hit Rice who cleared.
The second half saw Truro come out the quicker of the two & in the 55th they nearly scored when Anthony Acheampong let the ball go through & Wright got to it & his cross went just behind Craig Duff but he retrieved it & his cross into the area saw Cody Cooke just flick it wide of the post.
The game for the next 18 minutes saw both sides give the ball away & not cause any problems & then in the 73rd minute Anthony Cook received the ball on the left & he went forward before cutting back infield & from 25 yards his cross shot just got a nick on it to go for a corner, a minute later Ebbsfleet nearly scored when Parkes cross into the area was met by Haynes but his powerful header hit a defender & went over the bar.
The last chance of the game came in the 82nd minute when Dean Rance tried his luck from 20 yards only for Rice to parry it away but just as Kedwell was going for the rebound Rice just got to kick it away.
The final whistle went & the home crowd went home disappointed in what was probably their worst game for ages.
