Ebbsfleet United fans will be heartened by the club’s latest signing – a dog!
The members of Myfootballclub have raised the funds needed for Ebbsfleet United’s Groundsman Peter Norton to get a new piece of watering equipment for his pitch called a dog.
The dog goes up and down the pitch to give it the water that it needs to get the best growth possible from the work done on it in the close season. Much of the money came from the MyFC 100 Club monthly draw that has been running for nearly a year to provide extra funds to help the club and society.
MyFC member Weenie from Manchester commented “The 100 Club was set up to fund projects and it’s great news that Peter Norton has finally gotten his new watering dog ! Some £300 had already been raised by MyFC members but the balance was funded by the 100 Club to purchase this vitally important pitch watering equipment at a time when it was needed. Thanks go to all 100 Club members – we would not have been able to achieve this without your continuing support.”
Keith Handley, MyFootballclub Chairman added, “ The members have always held Peter Norton in very high regard at the club and are delighted to have been able to help the club to get him a new watering dog. This builds on previous appeals that have provided training equipment , some pitch maintenance costs and work on the new away toilets.
“I am sure by the start of the new season in the Blue Square Bet Conference Premier in August, our pitch will again look in beautiful condition thanks to Peter’s great care and devotion to his work with his new Turbo Dog. Please Come down to Stonebridge Road for the pre season games in July to see the pitch for yourself. “.
