The NIHL South Division 1’s top goalscorer has a new home after Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish today announced the capture of Slovak sniper Juraj Huska from the Romford Raiders.
31 year old Juraj Huska arrives in Kent having spent the last three seasons icing for the Romford Raiders during which time he has netted more goals in the NIHL South than any other player.
After an EPL spell with the Telford Tigers in 2006/07, followed by a year in France and two back home in Slovakia, Huska returned to these shores in 2010/11 as the Essex outfit secured his signature.
He instantly proved to be a major coup and 56 goals and 34 assists in league competition alone made him the envy of the rest of the division’s forwards.
The following year, the Slovak again proved to be prolific – this time his 41 goals and a hand in 51 more proving enough to power the Raiders to the summit of the league for their first championship in over a decade.
Despite interest from elsewhere, Huska then remained with Romford for a third term and, in 2012/13, he led the way once more with a further 48 strikes and 32 assists seeing him head the division in goals for the second time in just three years.
Now though, the prolific Slovak leaves the Raiders in favour of Gillingham but he departs Essex with a phenomenal record of 210 goals, 168 assists for a total of 378 points in 141 appearances for the side in all competitions.
Speaking on the capture of import forward Juraj Huska, Head Coach Kevin Parrish revealed he was delighted to have the Slovak goal getter amongst his ranks and admitted the skater was a player whom he had admired for some time.
Parrish said, “For me, Juraj has simply been the best goal scoring import this league has seen from its start. He arrived with Romford three years ago, was an instant hit and two seasons later he’s still leading the division in goals. His record with the Raiders is phenomenal and their success in recent seasons owes a lot to his prowess in front of net”.
The Dynamos supremo then went on to describe what the club’s latest acquisition will bring to the ice when he said, “Of course Juraj brings goals – that’s how he has made his name here – but at 31 he also adds a great deal of valuable experience that has accumulated from his years in England, back home in Slovakia, across the Channel in France and even briefly in America.”
“He knows what it takes to win championships and his general all round play make him a formidable force in the NIHL South Division 1. I am looking forward to working with him and I’m sure the fans are looking forward to watching him”.
Juraj Huska becomes Head Coach Kevin Parrish’s third signing of the summer as he occupies one of the two permitted import spots to join Alan Lack and Arran Strawson on the roster for 2013/14.
The Slovak star will continue to don the number 88 in which he has been so successful for the Romford Raiders.
