It’s the biggest weekend of the season for the Invicta Dynamos as they face a cup semi-final double header against the Streatham Redskins.
The two teams will go head to head on Saturday and Sunday nights for a place in the NIHL Southern Cup Final with the aggregate score taking the winner through.
Kevin Parrish’s side will head to London on Saturday night for the first leg before returning to Gillingham on Sunday evening hoping to finish the job off.
However, Parrish will once again have to go into a weekend without first choice netminder Chris Douglas who remains sidelined with a dislocated shoulder injury.
That will give deputy Davey Jackson the opportunity to impress once again after a great showing against both Cardiff NIHL Devils and Milton Keynes Thunder last weekend.
With still so much to play for this season as the Dynamos challenge in the league and trophy as well, Parrish is hoping the fans come out in force this weekend to support his side:
“We want to be pushing to win things this year. We are things to win them and we will keep on going.”
“We are going to go to Streatham and we’re not going there to shut up shop, then bring them back to our barn and open them up.”
“We are going to go there and play our free flowing game. You want to play in these games and we want to get to that final.”
“What better way to do that than against Streatham who are one of our biggest rivals.”
Both games seem set to be close with Streatham set to prove to be a real challange for the Dynamos.
The overall result will be a lot clearer come the end of the first game, but ice hockey has a habit of producing classics in these two legged ties and fans are set to come out in their numbers for the second leg at the Silver Blades on Sunday night with face off at 5:15pm.
