Fans of the Invicta Dynamos could be in for a real treat in 2016 as ice hockey returns to Gillingham on Sunday night.
After a three week break for Christmas and New Year, the Dynamos are back in action again this coming weekend against the Bracknell Hornets.
It seems like an eternity for those missing their ice hockey fix with the Dynamos last having played on Sunday 20th Decemeber, beating London Raiders 7-1 to go second in the NIHL South.
With other clubs playing through Christmas, the Dynamos find themselves eight points behind league leaders, Chelmsford Chieftains, but with a game in hand.
Crucially, the two sides have still to play each other twice more in the league this season, both in Gillingham on February 14th and March 6th.
Two wins for the Kent side and it really will be game on as to who will go on and win the league.
Before then, the Dynamos have to concentrate on picking up wins along the way, starting against Bracknell Hornets this weekend.
With Saturday night’s planned trip to the Isle of Wight called off as the Wightlink Raiders’ rink isn’t currently safe to play in, the Dynamos will welcome back their roster this week for training with just one game to concentrate on.
Tough games come thick and fast then for a new look Dynamos side between now and the end of the league campaign towards the end of March.
With a real blend of youth and experience at the Dynamos this season, anything is possible, with the return of Callum Fowler in recent weeks a massive bonus for the Kent side.
Bailey Wootton should be fit to return soon as the Dynamos look to keep everyone available for the challenges ahead.
Kevin Parrish’s side have all the potential to go on and win silverware this season, despite critics suggesting at the start of the campaign that they’d be lucky to have a mediocre 2015/16.
The next three months or so are sure to be exciting times for Dynamos fans.
