The Invicta Dynamos welcome back record points scorer Andy Smith for tonight’s league game against Chelmsford Chieftains.Andy Smith5

Smith returns to the roster after coming out of retirement having decided to play one again for Kevin Parrish’s side and will be a welcome addition to the squad for the visit of the league and cup holders to the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham.

The return of the club’s all time points scorer with 442 goals and 412 assists giving him a total of 854 points in a Dynamos jersey will be a boost for Dynamos fans who are keen to see the side succeed this season.

Speaking earlier in the week about Smith’s return, Parrish was delighted to have the talented forward back:

Parrish said, “Andy’s record is simply phenomenal and beyond question. When the chance to sign a player of his ability becomes possible you don’t even think about it – you just make it happen. He has been a talisman for the Dynamos over recent years and I’ve no doubt his pace, goal scoring prowess and creative vision will only further bolster our already strong forward lines.”

The Head Coach then continued to add, “Andy’s arrival not only brings more skill to the roster but also gives us a little more depth. No tiring defence is going to want to play our lines of forwards and the key now is to ensure we perform at our best each week to translate a strong squad into points on the board”.

Meanwhile, Parrish is expecting a tough test tonight, but knows his side are more than capable of beating a strong Chelmsford side:

“We showed a few weeks ago that we can be a match for them drawing 6-6 in the cup game. We’ve got to go out their with belief and match them in every area.”

“They’re a strong roster, but then so are we and it should be a great contest between two sides that like to play some fast hockey.”

Face off at the Silver Blades is 5:15pm with ticket information available at www.invictadynamos.co.uk
