It’s a bumper Christmas weekend for the Invicta Dynamos with a teddy toss, Xmas jumpers and the return of Callum Fowler.
Kevin Parrish’s side go into their final weekend of 2015 on the back of securing three points from their two games last Saturday and Sunday.
This weekend sees the Dynamos head to Bracknell Hornets on Saturday evening before returning to Gillingham on Sunday night for what should be one of the more special nights of the campaign as they entertain London Raiders.
Fans have been invited to bring brand new teddy bears to the rink and toss them on the ice at the end of the first period for the kids at Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
Donning their favourite Christmas jumpers, fans will also be treated to an Xmas party in the bar after the game, but before that, there’s four points to play for and the much anticipated return of forward Callum Fowler.
After a few months playing for Bracknell Bees, it’s ironic that Fowler will be back playing for the Dynamos at Bracknell on Saturday night, this time against the Hornets.
The talented goalscorer trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Thursday night having signed for the Dynamos in the week and will add much needed firepower to a side that’s shown much promise all season.
A bumper crowd is expected to come out to see Fowler back in a Dynamos shirt in Gillingham on Sunday evening and Head Coach, Kevin Parrish, wants fans to not only support the side, but the good causes that the club will be helping:
“It’s great to have Callum back with us and he will bring with him a wealth of experience playing at this level and hopefully the fans come out in their numbers for our last game of the year on Sunday.”
“We can’t get too ahead of ourselves though and need to pick up two points at Bracknell on Saturday night first.”
“It’ll be great to come back home on Sunday with a win under our belts and I urge fans to bring their teddy bears and toss them onto the ice for children a lot less fortunate than others.”
“Having been to Demelza with some of the guys a few years back, it’s a truly humbling place and it makes me proud to think that the Dynamos fans show how they are the best fans in the league when it comes to supporting such a great cause.”
Parrish will once again have to do without the services of injured duo Adam McNicoll and Bailey Wootton for this weekend with the pair sidelined by knee injuries, but will hope to have captain Nicky Lewis available after he missed last Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Oxford City Stars with a shoulder injury.
Face off on Sunday is 5:15pm with fans urged to arrive early and not to forget their teddies and Christmas jumpers!
