The Invicta Dynamos will look to start 2014 with a bang this weekend and pick up two vital wins along the way.
Kevin Parrish’s side will have revenge on their minds as they head to Streatham on Saturday night for the return league clash with the London side winning in Kent just a couple of days before Christmas.
That saw the Dynamos end 2013 third in the NIHL South, five points behind league leaders Wightlink Raiders, but crucially with two games in hand.
For Parrish, the weekend is a great opportunity to put their stamp on the league and he’s glad to have a full roster in which to choose from with Callum Fowler back available:
“The guys have looked good in practice this week and I think it’s got to be our biggest weekend of the season.”
“We need those points back from Streatham after the loss before Christmas and we need to get one over Chelmsford after they totally embarrassed us last time.”
As we get towards the business end of the season where titles will be won or lost, the Dynamos will be hoping to repeat their run of thirteen games unbeaten that saw them climb to the top of the league between September and November.
Just four defeats in the league leave the Dynamos in a strong position going into the second half of the season, but they’ll need to be on the top of their game this weekend.
Once they’ve got the Streatham game out of the way on Saturday night, they return to Kent on Sunday evening to face the Chelmsford Chieftains in the SouthEast Trophy.
They’ve played just the two games in the Trophy so far this season with mixed outcomes. They thrashed Wightlink Raiders 8-3 at home back in October before suffering their worst defeat of the season in December, going down 13-3 against Chelmsford in Essex.
As the games now come thick and fast for Kevin Parrish’s side, fans will play a huge part in how the side do with a big crowd expected for the clash against Chelmsford at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham on Sunday night with face off at 5:15pm.
