Head Coach Kevin Parrish wants his Invicta Dynamos side to show real character as they face two cup games this weekend.

On Saturday the Dynamos make the short trip to take on London Raiders with many of the Invicta side having played for their opponents before.

Just a day later and the Chelmsford Chieftains will come to Gillingham for the second NIHL Southern Cup Group A fixture of the weekend.

Both games will prove to be tough for a Dynamos side that lost netminder Mark McGill in the week, but Kevin Parrish wants his roster to show some real character when facing adversity:

“We need to dig deep this weekend as a team, we have to be smart with the puck and counter on their mistakes that we force them into.”

Having won their opening cup fixture of the season against the London Raiders (7-4), the Dynamos were soundly beaten by Chelmsford Chieftains (11-0) and will be hoping that they can put that result firmly behind them.

Victory over the London Raiders should all but guarantee the Dynamos a semi-final place in the NIHL Southern Cup in February.

Solent Devils, Wightlink Raiders and Streatham Redskins are the three sides in Group B of the NIHL Southern Cup this season.

Adam McNicoll will once again be missing this weekend with a knee ligament injury, although the Dynamos should welcome back defenceman Arran Strawson after he sat out last weekend’s game with Wightlink Raiders.

Steve Nightingale is expected to be the netminder for the weekend following McGill’s departure, with Kevin Parrish having begun his search for a new face to the roster.

Face off is 5:15pm in Gillingham on Sunday night with the Chieftains expected to take to the ice with former Dynamos Anthony Leone, Juraj Huska and Danny Hammond.
