The Invicta Dynamos will look to end their league campaign on a high this weekend with second spot still up for grabs.
Last weekend’s defeat to the Chelmsford Chieftains ensured the Essex outfit claimed the NIHL South title, with the Dynamos now fighting for second spot with Saturday night’s opponents Wightlink Raiders.
The final two games of the season this weekend will not only see who finishes second in the league, but could give the Dynamos much needed confidence going into the play-offs.
Without the services of captain Anthony Leone for Saturday’s game on the Isle of Wight due to suspension, the Dynamos will keep netminder Chris Douglas under wraps as he rests for another weekend after dislocating his shoulder.
Defenceman Shaun Yardley is also nearing a return for Kevin Parrish’s side as they look to end the current campaign on a high.
With the Bracknell Hornets coming to the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham on Sunday night, fans will be hoping their side end the 2013/14 season with a victory.
For Parrish, the message to his players this weekend is simple:
“If we want to finish this season on some sort of a high, we need the four points.”
A lot of confidence can be taken from going into the play-offs with a win. Face off is at 5:15pm on Sunday.
