The Invicta Dynamos have added another hot prospect to their line-up for 2017/18 following the capture of 18 year old Louis Colvin who has spent the last two seasons across the Atlantic in the Ontario Hockey Academy.

Forward Louis Colvin is a product of the Guildford youth setup and rose through the ranks in Surrey before taking his hockey to Canada in the summer of 2015. P

rior to the switch abroad the young left hander had captained the Guildford under 16s to a second placed finish in the league with 28 goals and 24 assists for 52 points in 16 fixtures – the third highest in the division.

In the same season Colvin featured 15 times for the under 18s where he tallied another 14 times and played a role in 10 further goals for 24 points.

In 2015/16 Louis Colvin signed up to the Ontario Hockey Academy where he played Midget hockey in his first term featuring 57 times and amassing 38 points by way of 16 goals and 22 assists.

He remained with the organisation for 2016/17, this time icing in the Hockey Eastern Ontario Midget AAA (HEOMAAA) division where he played a further 44 games and notched another 8 goals with 23 assists for 31 points in the process.

Now though the young forward is back in the UK and looking to make a name for himself in the NIHL as he signs for the Dynamos for the duration of 2017/18.

Speaking on his latest signing Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “Louis is a young player full of potential and, after two years developing his game in Canada, he’s ready to test himself in the NIHL South Division 1.”

“He’s an energetic forward with a good turn of pace and the ability to regularly get amongst the points and we will need his work rate and enthusiasm as we look to make our mark in British ice hockey’s second tier.”

“I know he is keen to pull on the Mos jersey and get his Dynamos career underway and I look forward to working him throughout 2017/18”.

Louis Colvin will wear the number 81 jersey at the SilverBlades Gillingham when the new season gets underway in September.
