The Invicta Dynamos have confirmed that 31 year old blue liner Tyrone Miller is no longer a part of the team’s roster after the defenceman was released with a re-occurring injury.
Tyrone Miller was re-signed by the club for a second consecutive season in Gillingham over the summer but Head Coach Kevin Parrish has today revealed the skater will not feature for the team in the new campaign after being released from his contract.
Talking to the club’s official website Parrish said, “Tyrone was still carrying an injury from the last year and was unlikely to be available for selection for a number of weeks. We also considered it possible that his injury could flair up again in the future leaving us short at the back for a prolonged amount of time and this was a risk I am unable to take.”
“It’s an unfortunate situation but regrettably an issue that happens in hockey and we wish Tyrone the best for his recuperation”.
When asked if the team would be seeing a new addition to cover for the departed Tyrone Miller, Head Coach Kevin Parrish announced that he was looking to add to the squad in the near future.
Parrish said, “All being well I’m hoping to have a player signed within the week to help provide us with a bit more depth. The team proved on Sunday how tight knit a group they were becoming with their excellent fight back and it’s important to find the right player to fit in to that mix”.
The Invicta Dynamos are now next in action on Sunday 22nd September as they host the London Raiders in their first league game of the new campaign. Faceoff at the Silver Blades Ice Rink in Gillingham is at the normal time of 5.15pm.
