Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish has revealed that netminder Chris ‘Disco’ Douglas has left the club with immediate effect following discussions between the goalie and his coach in midweek.

Speaking to Kent Sports News the Dynamos supremo said, “Me and Chris had a heated discussion on Thursday night as we both gave views on what’s currently going on.”

“We’ll probably keep it in house as to what exactly has occurred but the end result is that Chris has decided to leave the Dynamos. It’s unfortunate that it has happened and we have lost a very, very good goalie but things like this take place in hockey and now we’ll have to move on.”

“We have to commend Chris for travelling all the way from Swindon each week for the year and a half that he has been with us but I think both parties would agree that the discussions we had wouldn’t get resolved and so he has decided to leave because of that situation”.

The departure of Chris Douglas sees him end his association with the Dynamos after 61 appearances in a Mos jersey including 20 this season in which he iced for a total of 1135 minutes.

The 35 year old originally joined the club at the start of 2013/14 having previously featured in the EPL for over a decade and his experience and performances ensured he was a firm favourite amongst the club’s supporters.

However his exit now sees the team currently reduced to calling on the services of fellow EPL stalwart Mark Lee, who cannot commit full time, and NIHL South Division 1 debutant Steve Nightingale.

Speaking briefly on the resulting hunt for a new netminder Kevin Parrish said, “Obviously the loss of Chris Douglas means I’m looking for a new goalie and I’ve already been in contact with a couple of guys so, with a bit of luck, we will hopefully have another player in place for next weekend”.

Parrish’s latest acquisition could then make his debut at home as early as Saturday when the Dynamos host the Wightlink Raiders at the Silver Blades Gillingham or alternatively on the road in Milton Keynes against the Thunder on Sunday with both clashes coming in the NIHL South Division 1.
