The newly announced Drift Cup will be heading to Lydden Hill for the 2014 season it was announced yesterday.
The new championship is designed for grass root drifters as a competition to ensure everyone is on an equal playing field.
The series is designed for every-day drift cars and street driven ones too, it is meant to ensure that everyone who takes part has a good time and enjoys pushing their car to the limits.
The series will consist of three one-day championship rounds held at venues around the country that boast a strong grassroots following and track layouts that reward a committed, close-quarters style of drifting with the aim introducing drivers to competitive drifting.
The rounds will be split into two classes, with the Street class open only to road-registered and taxed vehicles with no requirement for a roll cage. The Cup class caters for those with higher-specced cars, with simple roll cages and basic safety gear being all that is required to compete.
