Dover Athletic manager Nicky Forster has revealed he will be registering himself as a player this coming season.
Only playing if needed, Whites’ boss will have an extra attacking option without affecting his squad budget.
There are currently three strikers in the squad, following the signing of Calum Willock from Ebbsfleet United. Last season’s top-scorer Billy Bricknell and playmaker Terry Dixon are also on contract.
Last season the club brought in mid-season signings and loanees but Forster is keen to steer away from that unless absolutely necessary and is willing to put himself on the pitch to fight for the cause.
Nicky said: “My intention is to be there when needed, if needed! There were times last season when perhaps my experience could have benefited individuals and us as a team on the pitch.
“It is not a decision I have taken lightly and after talking to people who have both managed and played at this level, I feel I still have something to offer whilst giving us the ability to utilise another player at no extra cost.”
