Following on from a successful opening weekend of the 2020 BRDC British F3 Championship, Kiern Jewiss heads to Donington Park for Round Two.
Kiern currently occupies second place in the championship standings after the opening weekend at Oulton Park, which saw the 18-year-old claim a victory in the first race and two further top-five finishes across the four races.
Donington Park is a circuit Kiern has fared well at in the past as the Douglas Motorsport driver scored three podium finishes across the series’ two visits to the Leicestershire circuit last year as well as a further podium and a race win during his title-winning season in British F4.
Kiern is confident of another strong showing this weekend and is looking forward to making further progress in the points standings and collecting more silverware to add to his growing collection.
The format for the weekend sees a return to the traditional three-race schedule, with qualifying marking the start of proceedings at 11:00 on Saturday morning followed by the first race of the weekend at 15:20. The remaining two races will take place on Sunday at 10:15 and 15:40 respectively.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Jewiss said: “We’ve made a really good start to the season with the win at Oulton Park as well as the two top-five finishes. I may be second in the championship but that doesn’t mean I can relax, if anything it means I need to work even harder to keep the momentum going this weekend.
I enjoy Donington a lot, it’s been a good place for me over the past couple of years and I’ve got myself a few nice results out of it. This weekend we come here knowing we have the potential to go well but at the same time remembering just how competitive the field is, so we’ve got to make sure we’re on top form.”
