Holcombe reached the final of the England Hockey Tier One Championship on Sunday afternoon by beating Conference Midlands outfit Doncaster 4-0 at the John S Marshall Arena.
Goals from Deanna Ritchie (2), Bethan Hodges and Hannah Carney saw Nick Bandurak’s side past third-tier Doncaster, with Holcs having followed up indoor and outdoor promotions with a cup final appearance.
Hodges gave Holcombe a first-quarter lead with a close-range deflection after just five minutes before Ritchie doubled the advantage eight minutes later, a reverse effort finishing up in the goal via the crossbar.
At the end of the third period, Carney made it three with her first competitive 1s’ goal of the season.
It was four early on in the final period as New Zealander Ritchie added her second with a simple finish after the ball had been played around the goalkeeper.
Beeston beat Division One South champions Surbiton 2s 7-2 in the other last-four tie just a day after being relegated from the Premier Division despite a 5-2 win on the last day.
The two sides met once last season in Phase One of the Premier Division season, with Beeston running out 3-1 winners at Holcombe Park. Tania Escaich scored for Holcombe.
