It is back to back Moto2 races for Jake Dixon as they head to San Marino for the latest GP this weekend, as he looks to make it five podium finishes in a row.
Dixon is very much the form man in Moto2 at the moment with four consecutive podiums, five in the last seven and two victories. He is very much back in the championship fight in his last season with the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team.
Until the Catalunya GP, Dixon had not managed to open his points account. However, he has managed to turn the situation around and since the Barcelona race he is the rider who has scored most points with a total of 119, compared to the 73 of the leader Sergio García, or the 86 of the second placed, Ai Ogura.
After his recent victory in Aragon, he is only 43 points off the leader, and occupies fifth place in the World Championship. This weekend, at the San Marino GP, Dixon’s challenge is to get the first podium of his career at the Misano – Marco Simoncelli Circuit to continue reducing the gap with the leader further.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Dixon said: “We are going to keep working as we have been doing, because it is helping us to get closer to the best. We are still far from the top, but there is still a long way to go in the World Championship.
“We have already won two times this year and, with the help of the team, I know that we can fight for a good result at Misano.”
