Jake Dixon returns to the scene of his maiden Moto2 victory this weekend, as the Moto GP heads to Assen for the Dutch GP.
Dixon will be hoping that he can replicate that success this weekend with his Aspar Team.
He achieved that maiden victory in Assen last season after a weekend in which he was competitive from start to finish. This year, Dixon will fight to shine again on a track that brings him such good memories.
Assen was actually the first track in which he managed to score points in his debut season in 2019, and there was where in 2022 he began a streak of three consecutive podiums that helped him believe in himself to complete his best Moto 2 season until that moment.
Although the results have not been as he would have liked so far this season, Dixon has shown at times that he has the pace to fight with the front group and that will be the goal this weekend.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Dixon said: “We come back to the track in a special place for me, where one year ago today I won my first Moto2 race.
“But this is not the time to look back: we have to keep working hard, because we have shown we can do it, and this weekend we are going to try again.”
