Jake Dixon just missed out on the podium in the latest round of the Moto2 World Championship at Sepang last weekend.
The rider from Dover crossed the line in fourth place, which marked an upturn in his recent form.
It was a great comeback in Sepang, but he just couldn’t hold off his teammate and finish on the podium.
He started twelfth on the grid and as the laps ticked by, he overtook the riders in front of him until, with six laps remaining, he reached third position.
Only one lap has separated the CFMOTO RCB Aspar Team rider from returning to the podium, but appeared to stop accelerating as he crossed the finish line on the penultimate lap. As a result, Guevara has overtaken him and Dixon had to settle for fourth place.
Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “It has not been an easy weekend because of everything that has happened in Valencia.
“It was a great race, I had managed to get to the front positions and I was fighting for the podium, but it has not been possible. Now it is time to think about closing the season in the best possible way.”
