Ditton Minors FC has been busy fundraising over recent months to provide four defibrillators for their community.
Last year, they set a fundraising goal to raise enough money to deploy three devices in Larkfield and Ditton. The club took on a Crowdfunding campaign, hosted a quiz night and canvassed local businesses for sponsorship. As a result, they have now been able to deploy four new defibrillators in their community. A fantastic achievement uniting both club and community!
The defibrillators are all secured in key coded, heated cabinets which can be accessed and unlocked using a code provided by ‘999’ emergency operators, providing a ready-to-use device for somebody who is suffering from a cardiac arrest.
Mark Thompson, Chairman of Ditton Minors FC says, “Nobody should ever be more than 100m away from a defibrillator. We’re delighted that thanks to the hard work of our club members, community, residents, councillors and local businesses, Ditton now has four more defibrillators that have been placed strategically throughout the village for use in an emergency.”
“We pray they’re never needed, but we hope they can provide peace of mind for the community that they are available just in case. We want to thank Edison Swan Electrical for donating their materials and time for free.”
