Disastrous weekend for Dixon

It was a disastrous weekend for Jake Dixon at the latest round of the Moto2 World Championship in Indonesia.

Having qualified in second place for Sunday’s race the rider from Dover was full of confidence and hoping to be challenging for the win from a front row start.

However, on the second lap, when he was fighting for fifth position, he ended up crashing, it was a crash that ended his chances of a podium finish.

Despite this, Dixon managed to recover the bike and returned to the track, although he was only been able to finish in twenty-second position.

He now turns his attention on the Japanese GP, where he hopes to get a great result to forget the race in Indonesia.

Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “It has been a disastrous race. I don’t know what really has happened because we did not touch anything on the bike, but it has felt completely different.

“When González has overtaken me, he has gone wide, then I have tried to close the inside and the front has closed. I have not felt comfortable at all. Despite this, I have stayed out to see if anything changed.”
