Kent’s Alfie Plant lost both his matches as the United States thrashed Great Britain & Ireland 19-7 in the 46^th Walker Cup match at Los Angeles Country Club.

The 25-year-old Sundridge Park member, who will shortly turn professional, was beaten 8&7 with partner Harry Ellis in Saturday’s foursomes against American duo Collin Morikawa and Norman Xiong, and then lost 4&2 to Maverick McNealey in Sunday’s singles.
