It was disappointment for Kent Exiles American Football team on Sunday when they lost their Southern Conference Play Off Final to London Olympians 41-17 at Blackheath Rugby Club.
Despite Exiles leading 10-0 in the first quarter and going into the half 17-10 up, the Olympians recorded 31 unanswered points across the third and fourth quarters as their powerful offence and solid D proved too much for the Chislehurst based side.
The division winning Olympians will now head to Britbowl in Leeds on 27th August where they will face Manchester Titans looking to secure the national title.
Despite this defeat The Exiles have had an excellent first season at this higher level finishing second in the Southern Conference Division One table behind the Olympians and knocking out the previously unbeaten Sussex Thunder in the quarter final play off round.
With the junior sides both experiencing success and a new women’s side as well as Under 14’s flag team set up the future is certainly looking bright for the club.
