Difficult weekend for Jewiss

Kiern Jewiss endured a frustrating weekend in Genk at the final weekend of the European Championships. Kiern Jewis - Genk - Wafeproject
With the support of Jamie Croxford and the Forza Racing team, Kiern endeavoured to draw everything that he possibly could from his kart but unfortunately his efforts were in vain as he finished the race in P25 in what was the final round of the European Championships.

In the early heats of qualifying, Kiern demonstrated a race-craft beyond his years to record numerous top ten finishes but unfortunately a lack of straight-line speed saw Kiern qualify for Sunday’s final in P18.

Kiern started the race in typical fashion as two excellent overtaking manoeuvres in the first two corners saw him surge through the pack into tenth position. Unfortunately for the 14-year old, his kart’s pace didn’t allow him to trouble the field for much longer as he eventually finished in P25, despite displaying some sound defensive work.

Reflecting on a frustrating weekend Kiern commented: “Looking at the results you would say it was a weekend to forget and in one instance that’s what I’d say but I had a great time coming through the field in every race. It’s the fight that I enjoy. I could go from P23 to P6 in 2 corners, but I just lacked the straight line speed against the others. The guys at Forza did an amazing job with the chassis but the area where we were lacking was out of our control. A huge thanks as always to Forza and my family for their support.”
