Charlton are in action a day later than most of their Championship rivals, as the game at Derby will be shown live on Sky.
Lee Bowyer will probably be without Conor Gallagher who took a knock to his hip in the Boxing Day game against Bristol City at The Valley.
Bowyer has said it would be foolish to play Lyle Taylor for 90 minutes again, though the talismanic striker is certain to be involved from the bench at some stage.
The Rams are just below their visitors in the table, and have a lengthy injury list of their own to contemd with.
The Addicks could look something like this:
Phillips; Matthews, Lockyer, Pearce, Sarr, Purrington; Oshilaja, Pratley, Morgan, Doughty; Bonne.
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Solly, Ledley, Vennings, Dempsey, Daviso, Taylor.
Bowyer had this to say ahead of the game:
“This is an important part of the season for me. There’s a lot of points to be won. In the first part of the season we did well and we’re above where we expected to be. Now we start again.”
Despite the current problems, the manager will be disappointed if his team come away empty handed from Pride Park.
