This weekend a group of forty-seven will be cycling from Emerald Headingley in Leeds to Lord’s in St John’s Wood in aid of the Professional Cricketers’ Trust, and Kent’s Joe Denly is one of them.
Alongside Denly, other England stars making the trip will be Tim Bresnan and Ryan Sidebottom will be other current and former professional cricketers, some of the executive staff at the PCA, sponsors and commercial partners – all of whom have given up their weekends and time in support of the Trust.
The trip which began on Friday, will pass through Lincoln and Cambridge on its way to St John’s Wood on the 435km route.
Over £55,000 had already been raised prior to the Yorkshire departure, and all funds will go towards the provision of life-changing support for those who need it most, which sadly, as been highlighted recently, includes former Kent bowler Alan Igglesden.
KSN are delighted to stand alongside KCCC in the support of this amazing journey and the efforts of Joe and the other riders this weekend. As the County put it so well on their official website; “If you can, please consider supporting the riders during the challenge to help the Trust continue its life-changing work – it really will make a difference to those who need it most.”
