It’s the sixth instalment of the “Deal Town v Glebe Series” this Saturday when the two clubs clash again at the Charles Ground.
They have already met five times in cup matches this season and Deal are leading 2-1 at the moment, with the other two ties having been drawn, and the sides now have to play each other twice more in the league.
Their last two meetings have both been at the Charles Ground, including last Saturday’s 6-3 success for Deal in the League Challenge Cup second round, and Hoops manager Derek Hares said: “It’s difficult for Glebe because they’ve got to come down here two weeks running and it’s quite a journey (from Chislehurst) for them.
“Glebe have got a new management team and they had a few new faces in their team last week, and they will probably have a few more this weekend because they’ve got a couple suspended.”
Deal will also have two new faces in their squad, midfielder Ben Chapman and striker Euan Sahadow. Twenty-one-year-old Chapman has signed from Ramsgate after a period of training with the Hoops while 17-year-old Sahadow has joined on a dual registration agreement from Folkestone Invicta.
Meanwhile striker Ryan Philpott has left the club to join Lydd Town.
