Davis leaves Sheppey

Current assistant manager at Sheppey United Nick Davis has resigned from his post, with speculation that he has been offered a managers position elsewhere.

The former Sittingbourne manager only joined the club as Ernie Batten’s number two during the Summer, and has been working hard with the manager in shaping the squad during the season.

His last game for the Ites was the weekends 5-3 victory over Seaford Town in the FA Vase.

Speaking on his departure, Davis said: “I was not on the lookout for another management opportunity, however another great club has made contact and its turned my head. I am unsure whether I shall take the job at present but think it’s only fair to Ernie and the football club that I step away whilst I decide what the next step is. I think the buzz of living and dying by your own decisions as manager I have really missed. I’m certainly leaving one of the biggest Step 5 football clubs in Kent.”

“I have been around non-league football for 20 years and the support and club are something I have only experienced a couple of times before despite being involved with lots of higher league football clubs. I wish Ernie and his team the best and know the quality of the squad will shine through over the season.”
