Nick Davis’ contract as manager of Ramsgate FC has been terminated by the club.
Following the Rams three nil home defeat by Herne Bay on Tuesday night which leaves the Thanet side rooted to the foot of Bet Victor South East, it was announced on the club’s website that Davis and the club have gone their separate ways.
The statement posted on Wednesday afternoon reads, “Ramsgate Football Club announces that Nick Davis will leave his post with immediate effect, following the termination of his contract this afternoon.”
It goes onto add, “However, after failing to accumulate a win in the Isthmian League heading into game week 6, the club feels a change is necessary to elevate the clubs performance towards our promotion goals.”
The Club’s CEO – Paul Bowden Brown – is also quoted in the release as saying, “Nick has worked professionally and diligently to bring success to this football club, and we are disappointed and saddened that the results have not mirrored this effort.”
The Rams are not in League action this weekend – they travel to face Hadley of the Essex Senior League in the FA Cup – and are not back in League action until the first Tuesday in October when they travel to Homelands to face Ashford United by which time, the Rams faithful will hope that the club has confirmed Davis’ successor.
