Tomorrow sees Dartford kick off their season with an FA Cup second round qualifying tie against Slough Town.
This will be the Darts first competitive game since the playoff final against Weymouth where the memory of seeing three penalties blazed over the bar is long gone.
Pre-season for Dartford has been impressive as they have remained unbeaten testing themselves against strong opposition. Whilst fans have only been allowed to attend a couple of friendlies they will be impressed by what they have seen, either online or in attendance.
The squad Steve King has put together is impressive and is definitely amongst, if not, the strongest in the National League South.
There is competition in every position and strength in depth. A large quality squad has been put together in what will be a busy season.
This evening they added Abdul Osman to the squad, the former Crewe Alexandra player midfielder, and earlier in the day they added left back Gavin McCallum who played for King at Welling.
These two sides last met in the playoffs when Dartford built on a strong first half defensive display to eventually run out comfortable 3-0 winners.
Neither manager will be particularly happy with the draw as both sides had strong campaigns last season.
The first game of the season is always difficult to predict and with it being the FA Cup let’s hope we see some Dartford magic.
