As a reward for their nail biting victory at Slough Town on Tuesday night, Dartford entertain Haringey Borough in the F.A. Trophy third round on Saturday.
They came back from two down to draw two-all and then, in the penalty shoot out, Slough missed their fifth spot kick that would have sent them through. Instead it went into sudden death at four apiece and after both scored their first. Jordan Wynter converted for the Darts but Josh Jackman missed the target and the Rebels were out.
To come back from two down, they were indebted to substitute Moussa Bakayoka who came off the bench to score a brace.
Although Haringey are in mid-table in the Isthmian Premier, a league below the Darts, Steve King will not be underestimating them after their impressive three-one victory over Eastbourne Borough. Rakim Richards put the hosts ahead on fifteen minutes and Roman Michael-Percil put them two up from the spot, four minutes before half time.
Michael-Percil added a third five minutes into the second half and Greg Luer’s injury time goal was a mere consolation for Eastbourne.
When Haringey beat Bishop’s Stortford in the first round, one week earlier, it was their first game for a month following the suspension of their league on 8th November so it’s difficult to get a form guide. Their away league form is two wins and two defeats in four games.
However, King will be well prepared and will have studied their game on Tuesday night ready to continue his team’s progress on the road to Wembley.
