Dartford are a club that are always amongst the National League South front runners. Having been on the cusp of promotion twice in the last three seasons, Dartford superfan Mitchell Lipscombe runs the rule over Jamie Coyle’s men for 2019/20.
How would you rate Dartford’s close and pre-season business?
I think the business we have done is the best for a while. We have signed very good players including bringing back Luke Wanadio and adding Mark Smith Darren McQueen Luke Allen and co. We also signed Sam Blackman but he has picked up an awful injury and won’t be back much before the new year. Gutted is an understatement.
What represents a realistic aim for Dartford this season?
Personally my believe is that the play-offs is where we should be but I do expect this league to be the toughest in a long while. I fear that Havant and Waterlooville and Maidstone United will be up there. However, football is a funny game who knows what will happen.
Who is the star signing and why?
Luke Wanadio for me the guy is class and can’t wait to see him run down the wing for us again. Buzzed to have him back.
If there is a cause for concern what might that be?
Injuries! We’ve lost 3/4 strikers in pre-season and Sam Blackman (midfielder) which is hard to take. But with the squad we have we are still capable of competing. Darren McQueen and Alex Flisher, two great additions to the club, are both out with dislocated shoulders and there are some concerns over Charlie Sheringham but hope to see him back in no time. Ultimately only time will tell.
What is your personal prediction for the season?
3rd for me as I say I expect Havant and Maidstone United to be the best in the league.
