Dartford brushed aside Phoenix Sports at Princes Park to book their place in the Kent Senior Cup final.
A goal in the first half from Jordan Wynter meant the Darts lead 1-0 at half time. Liam Nash and Elliot Romain extended the lead before Phoenix Sports pulled one back from the penalty spot through Kenny Alireu. The Darts quelled any hopes of a comeback with late goals from Amrit Bansal-McNulty and a second for Nash.
Steve King made five changes from the team that played on Saturday. Alhaji Sesay, Ronnie Vint, Jack Jebb, Luke Wanadio and Nash all came into the starting eleven.
The first chance of the game came to Bansal-McNulty following a corner. As he fired over after turning his man inside out.
Every bit of positive play from Dartford was coming through Bansal-McNulty and he came close again to opening the scoring. He found himself through on goal and attempted to lob Steven Phillips but the Sports custodian was able to push the ball over.
Dartford went ahead after fifteen minutes albeit somewhat fortuitously following a ricochet in the box. The ball fell kindly at the feet of Wynter and he had the composure to strike into the corner of the goal.
From a Dartford counter attack Nash almost doubled the lead when he cut inside and his effort went just wide of the far post.
Five minutes into the second half Nash did make it two. The ball dropped to him inside the box and he smashed the ball past Phillips.
The game looked to be over when Romain fired in after picking the ball up on the edge of the box and creating half a yard for himself.
However, with just over ten minutes to go Dartford gave away a penalty after a foul in the box. Aileru stepped up and sent Sesay the wrong way. It gave the visitors an unlikely way back into the game and a glimmer of hope.
The tie was all over when Wanadio and Bansal-McNulty combined on the right. The ball eventually found its way to Bansal-McNulty after bouncing off a couple of players and he fired the ball into the net for a deserved goal.
The scoring wasn’t over though as Nash was able to smash the ball past Phillips from just outside the box for his second of the night. He thought he had a hat trick a minute later but his headed effort was ruled out for offside.
Dartford ran out comfortable winners and must now wait to see who they face in the final.
