Dartford secured all three points at Princes Park on Saturday afternoon in the only National League South game of the day.
Darren McQueen had the Darts on their way to victory with a goal on 10 minutes, confusion in the Billeracy box allowed McQueen, who was lurking at the back post to smash home.
12 minutes later and Dartford were in dreamland. Romain, who was a constant threat all afternoon had the Darts two in front when a wicked ball into the box by on loan full-back Gordon, wasn’t dealt with again by Town, found it’s way to McQueen, who had the initial header saved by Julian, only for Romain to be waiting and lurking at the back post and smashing home.
Every time Steve King’s men had an attack it looked like they were going to score and was unlucky not to be three in front, when Romain slid in Wanadio, only for the latter’s wicked ball across the face of the box not converted by a man in white and black.
Billericay clearly got a talking to at half-time and came out strong in the second half, and found themselves back in the game on 56 minutes, Akinwande raced past the Darts backline, only to be denied by debutante Sesay in the Darts goal, but the young keeper could not hold the initial shot and Akinwande prodded home.
However, two minutes later Dartford extended their lead. A long ball forward by the ever present Gordon, wasn’t dealt with by the Town line and it raced through to Romain, who out muscled his man, his initial shot was saved by Julian, but the Darts main man wasn’t going to be denied and finished at the second attempt at a tight angle.
Billericay, did not lie down quietly and found themselves back within a goal of Dartford on 63 minutes, Alfa who was a constant threat all afternoon, put the after burners on against Wynter and the Darts man bundled Alfa over, leaving the man in the middle no choice but to point to the spot. Robinson stepped up and slotted it past Sesay in the Darts goal.
However, Steve King’s men managed to see the game out and saw Dartford Leapfrog Town in 12th position in the table.
