Dartford came into today’s game in good form after beating Whitehawk in the week and were looking to continue their rise up the table whilst Chippenham also came into today’s game full of confidence after they won in midweek.

The game was slow to start but Dartford had the first half chances when in the 8^th minute Alex Brown on the edge of the area saw his goal bound shot get deflected for a corner, two minutes later and another chance came Dartford’s way when Ryan Hayes latched onto a loose pass and went forward & then crossed low to the back post for stretching Lyle Della-Verde and his shot went just past the post from 6 yards.

Chippenham finally got into the game and in the 14^th minute they had a couple of goal bound shots blocked. In the 21^st minute Alfie Pavey in the area received the ball and his volley shot from 10 yards went over the bar. Three minutes later David Pratt 18 yards out saw his shot saved at the second attempt by Deren Ibrahim.

Dartford took the lead in the 26^th minute when Hayes on the right wing received the ball and his first time cross to the back post was met by Pavey whose powerful header hit the back of the net. Chippenham were rocked by this but kept going as in the 29^th minute Matt Smith on the edge of the area had his shot pushed away by Ibrahim, then in the 44^th minute nice inter play saw Scott Twine in the area twist and turn, with his shot saved at the second attempt by Ibrahim.

The second half saw Chippenham come out of the blocks the quickest but without causing Dartford any problems, then from the 58^th minute Dartford took control with Chippenham having a couple of half chances.

Just before the hour mark, Hayes beat Greg Tindle to the by-line on the right and his shot was blocked by Jared Thompson but came to Elliot Bradbrook whose close range shot came back off the post.

Four minutes later Hayes again down the right crossed into the area for Pavey who controlled it and saw his shot go over the bar. In the 68^th minute Dartford doubled their lead when Hayes on the right wing crossed low to the back post where Andy Pugh came sliding in, with his shot hitting the back of the net.

Two minutes later in a rare attack Alex Ferguson in the area saw his shot saved by Ibrahim. In the 76^th minute Dartford secured the three points when a long diagonal ball found Tom Murphy on the left wing, his cross into the area saw Pugh lay the ball into the path of Hayes who coolly curled his shot past Thompson.

Chippenham were now down and out but kept going as in the 80^th minute Dan Bowman on the right passed into Ferguson but from 20 yards his shot went over the bar typifying their day. Dartford had one more chance when Brown on the edge of the area saw his shot parried away by Thompson.

The final whistle went & Dartford deserved this victory & it put them up to fourth in the table.
