Dartford stay in seventh place with a hard earned victory over league leaders Woking, doing the season double over their Surrey rivals, and increasing their lead over eighth place to five points.
The home side started the better of the two teams, with Phil Roberts having two half chances in the first 13 minutes, in the 7th on the edge of the area his shot was pushed around the post for a corner by Woking keeper Craig Ross.
Then in the 13th minute receiving the ball from a throw on he saw his shot from 25 yards saved by Ross. Ten minutes later they went in front when Mark Onyemah on his own half on the left threaded the ball through for speedster Darren McQueen who latched onto it, and from 15 yards shot past Ross.
The game went a little quiet as both teams defended well but also gave the ball away. In the 42nd minute a Lee Noble free kick to the back post found Elliot Bradbrook who chested it down but shot just past the post.
In the last couple of minutes of the half Woking finally had chances. Firstly a free kick into the area found Paul Hodges but his shot from 10 yards went wide, then right on half time the ball was being played around the penalty area before Hodges tried his luck but Bailey Vose made his first real save.
Half time 0-0
The second half saw Woking come at Dartford hoping to get an equaliser, in the 57th minute they should have scored when a cross from Josh Casey to the back post found Hodges on his own but from six yards on his own he shot over the bar, two minutes later a free kick into the area was headed just over the bar by Jack Hyde.
Woking were huffing and puffing trying to get back into the game whilst Dartford defended superbly, and on the counter attack were looking dangerous.
In the 68th minute a ball across the area found Dave Tarpey but from 18 yards he shot wide. Two minutes later Dartford increased their lead probably against the run of play when a long ball down the right wing saw Roberts get to it, he beat the defender go into the area and shot past Ross.
Fifteen minutes from time another half chance came Woking’s way when a cross into the area saw a stooping Jack Cook’s header go over the bar.
In the 79th minute Woking were down to ten men when Hodges had to leave the pitch with a facial injury, as all subs had been used Woking had to play out the last 15 minutes without him.
With the clock approaching 90 minutes it nearly became three when Tom Murphy down the right saw his low cross cleared off the line by Nathan Collier for a corner.
The full time whistle finally went after five minutes off added on time with Dartford deserving the victory.
