A youthful Charlton side recorded a 2-0 win at Dartford on Tuesday evening with Adam Birchall back in a Darts shirt.Dartford

Having signed on loan from Gillingham earlier in the day, the former Dover Athletic striker was handed a start in the side by manager Tony Burman.

Charlton had three young trialists on the bench at Princes Park, strikers, Braima Balde from Vitoria Guimaraes and Marcel Henry-Francis from Birmingham City, and AZ Alkmaar defender, Raymon Yeboah.
Dillon Phillips was called upon to make some smart stops before the Addicks upped their game after the break. Joe Pigott should have put the visitors ahead after 56 minutes but he blasted a spot-kick high into the stands. The penalty was awarded after Ade Azeez was brought down.Pigott made amends twelve minutes later when he despatched a fine ball from Diego Poyet into the net via a post to put Charlton ahead.

Four minutes later, the Addicks sealed the win when Ade Azzez finished off a quick counter attack.
