Sunday sees the launch of Cyclopark in Northfleet with the public invited to come and check out the £10 million facility.
There are a range of impressive facilities at the venue, including:
Cyclocircuit – a smooth, tarmac circuit 2.9 kilometres long and 6 metres wide, ideal for cycling races, coaching sessions, training rides and general fitness cycling, as well as skating and running
CycloBMX – home to a 330 metre, first-class racetrack
Cycloterrain – 6 kilometres of mountain bike trails running throughout the park, designed by World Cup trail designer Hugh Clixby
Cycloplay – a 600 square metre multi-use games area which provides a venue for a variety of sports including basketball and 5-a-side football.
Everyone who takes part in Sky Ride Kent will get a very special opportunity to explore the facilities at Cyclopark.
As there’s no traffic, you’ll be able to cycle freely and safely with your family and friends. Join the route at any point and ride it as many times as you like.
With a carnival-like atmosphere and a variety of activities to entertain everyone, it promises to be a great day out.
Clive Copeland, British Cycling’s Recreation Manager for the South East region, said: ‘Sky Ride Kent is going to be an awesome day and we’re so excited to be holding this event at such a world class location. This really is a park like no other and I want the whole of Kent to come down on Sunday and see it for themselves.’
The park is open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday with cyclists invited to register at www.cyclopark.com
