Mark Cundy will be making the step-up from the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club to the Ginetta GRDC+ for the 2016 season.
The 56-year-old accountant from Faversham will be swapping his day job involving financial spreadsheets for data analysis of a different kind.
Cundy is Group Director at Mann Made Group and used his 2015 debut in the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club as a promotional tool for his business. It’s no secret though, that he’s been having the time of his life along the way!
With a goal of improving on his overall series position of 15th whilst having fun at the same time, Cundy does have an incredibly competitive streak. Having climbed to an impressive seventh place at Donington Park, a small mistake saw him spin and drop down the order, an error he won’t be making again in 2016!
Speaking about graduating to the GRDC+ Cundy, said: “I had a great time in the GRDC last season, so I know that 2016 will be even better now I am familiar with the car and the tracks. I am incredibly excited at the prospect of visiting Spa Francorchamps this year, it’s something every racing driver wants to tackle, no matter how much or little experience they may have!”
For 2016, the GRDC+ grid is bigger than ever, as the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club class of 2015 join those who joined Ginetta for the inaugural season in 2014. With that in mind, the 2016 GRDC+ calendar will feature both standalone races and outings as part of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid.
