Kent Crusaders improved to 2-0 in Men’s NBL Division 2 action with a 80-93 away win over Doncaster Danum Eagles on Saturday.
John Shodipo exploded for 37 points in the high offence game that saw Kent put 60 points on the board in the first half.
“It was another good offensive performance from us and a great win in a difficult gym,” said Head Coach Lloyd Gardner.
“Doncaster will beat a lot of teams in our league so to win there early in the season is excellent for us. We are making strides in the right direction but especially on the defensive side of the floor we have a lot of work to do. We will continue to work though and I’m sure it’s something that we will get right.”
Zephi Sharman and Dan Akin added 15 and 14 respectively for Kent, as they overcame a 27 point outing from Eagles’ Mathew Martin.
Crusaders return to action on Sunday in a double header weekend, as they face London Lituanica in the third round of the National Cup at 2pm at Brompton Academy.
